A lovely hemistater of Agathokles

SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. 50 Litrai or Hemistater (Electrum, 15 mm, 3.59 g, 4 h), circa 310-306/5. Laureate head of Apollo to left; behind, lighted altar. Rev. ΣYPAK-OΣΙΩN Tripod with three ring handles, ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws. Jenkins, Electrum, Group B (O6/R4). A lovely example of fine style. A few very light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

Ex Roma 10, 27 September 2015, 217 and previously from a European collection, formed before 2005.
